The Downward Spirals

Matt Slocum

Since his contract signing, Morgan Frost has yet to be seen this year. He has been a healthy scratch in the last five or so games. When directly asked about it, John Tortorella gave the famous John Tortorella answer. “I’ll never tell you, so stop asking. It’s a matter between me and him.” Since Morgan Frost hasn’t played all season, the fans have yet to see what John Tortorella is seeing. Maybe this is the point?

The other spiral is that of Wade Allison. Since no one signed him, he has been with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The Phantoms coach Ian Laperrière said that he has definitely noticed Wade Allison has just not been contributing. He has a big fat goose egg with the Phantoms so far this season. Zero goals, zero assists, zero points. It doesn’t look like he has been his normal aggressive self either. Could you blame him? Wade Allison gives everything he has all of the time. He played 60 games last season, which was an all-time best for him, and it looks like the Flyers are just tossing him aside. He always gives 110%, and he just expected the same in return from his team. It may be a little while until these sparks come back to life.
