Panthers Come Out On Top
Continuing their four game win streak, the Florida Panthers took home another victory against The New York Islanders on Saturday night. The Panthers overcame the Islanders 3-2 in overtime.
After a scoreless first period, Panthers’ right wing Sam Reinhart scored early in the second period. The Islanders then responded with a goal of their own by Simon Holmstrom, tying the game at 1-1 after the second period.
Once again in the third period, the Panthers’ own Matthew Tkachuk scores, putting them in the lead. Late in the third period, Islander’s Kyle Palmieri scores to keep the Islanders alive, and to force the game into overtime. Finally, late into overtime Panthers’ Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored with just under 2 minutes left, securing the 2 points for Florida.
The Panthers will play the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday in Philadelphia.
