Get Ready for the 2023 Winter Classic
The Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins will face off at Fenway Park January 2nd.

The Winter Classic is an outdoor NHL game typically played in a baseball or football stadium usually on or around New Year’s. This year the Boston Bruins and the Pittsburgh Penguins will be playing in the Winter Classic being hosted by the Bruins at Fenway Park.
The Boston Bruins are currently No. 1 in the Atlantic division with a record of 20-3-1. Their surprisingly hot start to the season has made them one of the most exciting teams in the NHL this season. The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently No. 4 in the Metropolitan division with a record of 13-8-4.
The Winter Classic will be the second time this season that the Penguins and the Bruins face off. The two teams played against each other early this season on November 1st which resulted in a 6-5 OT win for the Bruins. It was an incredibly intense matchup and so fans can only expect that the game on January 2nd will be equally exciting.
As the game is nearing, the NHL has recently released a preview of the teams’ Winter Classic jerseys.

The Bruins wanted their jersey to reflect their jerseys’ from throughout the team's history. The typeface was designed by Adidas and inspired by the spoked-B and the Bear logo was inspired by the 1976 uniform shoulder patch. And of course, the gold stripes on a black base is unmistakably Boston.
The Penguins jersey pays homage to the NHL’s original franchise the 1925 Pittsburgh Pirates. The franchise wanted their jersey to reflect the city’s rich sports history.
We are about a month away from this game but fans will be excitedly awaiting this exciting outdoor matchup that subjects teams to the brutal winter weather.
