Joe Burrow says Bengals Must Win on Sunday
During a press conference held on Wednesday at the Bengals practice, Joe Burrow says Cincinnati needs to do “whatever it takes” to defeat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday to avoid a 1-4 start the season.
With the season just a little past a quarter of the way over, the Cincinnati Bengals have been the disappointment of the NFL season. Once thought to be Super Bowl contenders, Cincinnati may find themselves in contention for a top draft pick than playing in January.
Burrow’s calf has been the biggest deterrent to the Bengals success or lack thereof, limiting his ability to extend plays outside the pocket. Cincinnati has finally removed Burrow from the injury report after being a full participant in practice the past two days, and he’s quoted saying he feels “optimistic” for Sunday after feeling “the best [he’s] ever felt after a game.”
If Burrow can bounce back and return to MVP-form and win on Sunday against the Cardinals and the following week at home against Seattle going into the bye, Cincinnati can salvage their playoff hopes and bounce right back into contention. If not, the Bengals may need to explore their options on whether to put Joe Burrow’s health in jeopardy.
