Can the Texans or Colts catch the red hot Jaguars?
As the Week 8 trade deadline has passed the Jacksonville Jaguars are leading the way for the AFC South as they sit with a 6-2 record. With Houston Texans tied in 2nd place with a record of 3-4 with the Indianapolis Colts, the season is nowhere near over as Week 9 approaches with new life.
Upcoming schedule- Jaguars
As the NFL season passes the mid-way point of the season the Jacksonville Jaguars stand atop the AFC South. As they look to repeat as Division champions from a season ago. The 6-2 Jaguars have entered their bye week on a five-game winning streak after starting the season on rough note at a 1-2 record. After their bye week, they will host the San Francisco 49ers and that elite defense, which will be a challenge for the Jaguars. As of Week 11 and 12, they will be playing in the division against the Texans and Titans. It is hard to think that the Jaguars will go on a slump as being one of the hottest teams in football.
Upcoming schedule- Texans
The Houston Texans entered the 2023 season with very low expectations and although it is very unlikely that they can catch the Jacksonville Jaguars especially after their 15-13 lost to the winless Carolina Panthers would of brought them to 4-4, but are know 3-4 aa they enter week 9 and a game against the tough Buccaneers defense. The rest of the year for the Texans, they have four division games and one against the Jaguars, who earlier in the year defeated them in Jacksonville. If quarterback CJ Stroud continues to play at high level they could possibly sneak into their way to be the division winner or a wildcard spot.
Upcoming Schedule- Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are tied in second with the Houston Texans. They enter Week 9 at 3-4 in a game against the 1-6 Carolina Panthers. The Colts have a very favorable schedule to end the year as eight of the nine teams have an under .500 record on the year and all beatable games if the quarterback Gardner Minshew plays their brand of football and star running back Jonathan Taylor looks like he has not missed a beat since his return, anything can go down the stretch has November and December football is approaching.
