Bill Belichick’s Revenge Season?

After his first losing season since the year 2000, Bill Belichick was the talking point of the NFL this offseason. With his former counterpart Tom Brady winning a Superbowl in his first season away from the Patriots, many fans and analysts came to the conclusion that it wasn’t Belichick who was the face of the Patriots dynasty that dominated the NFL for almost two decades, but that it was Tom Brady.

Belichick got to work in the offseason, bringing in free agents such as Matthew Judon, Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne and Kyle Van Noy. Through the draft however, Bill found his quarterback in Mac Jones, where they selected him with the 15th overall pick, making Jones the first quarterback taken in the first round by the Patriots since 1993.

Each of these additions have made an immediate impact, and they’ve now found themselves a game behind the Bills, who are currently sitting as the Superbowl favorites. The two face off in weeks 13 and 16; these games will likely be the deciding factor as to who potentially wins the division.

Despite their recent success, the media still isn’t buying into this Patriots team, as many expect a quick playoff exit. But, who other than Bill Belichick is more qualified to take this team to the Superbowl?

With a chip on his shoulder, Bill will likely lead this team to the playoffs and silence the doubters. To win a superbowl however, would be a historic feat, as it could be the first time in NFL history that a starting rookie quarterback takes home the Lombardi. This would make the question of who is credited for the Pats dynasty that much more difficult to answer.

Can Bill Belichick lead a historic season and take the Patriots all the way? We’ll have to wait and see, in the meantime the Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons this upcoming Thursday and look to improve to 7-4.
