Jedd Fisch takes over at UW

Former University of Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch has announced he is leaving the program to take over at the University of Washington.

Fisch is on his way to Washington with some baggage however as he has also brought nine of his coaches that were at Arizona with him. Of these nine this includes the entire offensive staff from Arizona’s 2023 coaching staff. The list of names include:

OC/OL Coach Brennan Carroll

QB Coach Jimmie Dougherty

RB Coach Scottie Graham

WR Coach Kevin Cummings

TE/ST Coach Jordan Paopao

CB Coach John Richardson

LB/DE Coach Jason Kaufusi

Strength Coach Tyler Owens

Fisch gets a new contract worth up to 7.75 million dollars per year for seven years. Fisch is taking over a team that just appeared in the Nation championship the year before. With 18 out of 22 starters from the former Pac12 championship squad including 2023 Maxwell Award winner QB Michael Penix Jr graduating it leaves many holes for the first year coach to fill.

In Fisch’s coaching career at Arizona he put together a 16-21 record in three years with the program. He also lead the team to two bowl game appearances going 1-1. He leaves Tucson having won his last game with the team in the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma State.
