The Dallas Mavericks Get Fined 750K

For the decision to sit Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, and other key players in their loss the other night against the Chicago Bulls the Mavericks will face a fine of $750,000.
After an investigation into the matter by the league’s officials it was determined that the Mavericks violated the league’s player resting policy and demonstrated through other coinciding actions that alledged the team was intent on losing the game to improve chances of retaining their first-round pick.
Is tanking really that weird? It’s no secret that teams are tanking to try and get the best prospect in basketball since Lebron James. And can these teams really be blamed? For years teams have always tanked toward the end of the season when they realize their playoff hopes are long gone. So how is what Dallas is doing any different? The answer is it’s not if the league wants to crack down on tanking, which is fine but then deliver the punishments evenly. I expect to see multiple teams getting investigated for potentially tanking purposefully otherwise it’s not fair.
