Brooklyn, NY (PSF) - In the final game of the regular season, Cam Thomas showed the Nets why he should be a piece in the playoffs. The Brooklyn Nets faced the Philadelphia 76ers at home to a sold out Barclays for the regular-season finale. While the Nets took a rough loss to the Sixers 134-105, Cam Thomas almost single handedly brought the Nets back.

With the Nets resting nine players, Cam Thomas was given the green light. The 21-year-old guard finished 16-29 from the field and 6-8 from deep. He had 29 points in the third quarter Thomas, which helped the Nets close the gap but after being held to only 4 points in the fourth the Sixers pulled ahead.

“But it is what it is, final game, last game of the [regular] season. We have another season coming up, so hopefully we can get them then” Thomas said.

Sunday was Cam’s fourth 40-point game this season. The only players in the NBA with more 40-point games since Feb. 1st are Damian Lillard and Donovan Mitchell.

When asked if he has proven himself to be in a NBA playoff lineup Thomas said, “I don’t know,” Thomas said. “Hopefully. But that’s out of my control. That’s their decision. So I don’t know.” While Cam Thomas shot selection and efficiency has hindered him being in the lineup, this game showed what the young guard is made of.
