Will Logan Sargeant return to Formula One?

Logan who is a rookie racing for the Williams Formula One Team, has a one-year contract expiring at the end of this season. With his performance being nothing to write home about compared to his teammate Alex Albon, but does that mean who shouldn’t get a contract extension?

Logan Sargeant is the only American on the grid since 2015 and with the growing American market, Logan could be seen as an asset for sponsorships, views, and new fans. Other than his possible appeal to the American market, Logan has an impressive resume being a top driver in Formula 2 and 3 and being involved in other racing series such as Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula 4.

Looking at his record this season, Logan has not scored in the points unlike his teammate but has come close with P11, P12, and P13 finishes respectfully. This inability to score points has led to conversations about his future on Williams and in Formula One.

There are many options for his seat and allegedly Williams is fielding possible contenders if they do decide to replace him. Names such as Mick Schumacher, Alex Palou, and Frederik Vesti have appeared during the peak of Silly Season. Sadly for Logan, Mick Schumacher might actually pose a threat to him. Mick is currently the reserve driver for Mercedes, has a great connection with Toto Wolff who may have influence in Williams, previously raced in Formula One, and comes from an iconic racing family.

I think it is clear that if Logan does not keep on improving and finishing in the points, he will sadly be replaced at the end of his rookie season by someone like Mick Schumacher. Logan however has shown a lot of potential and there is a good chance he could stay for at least one more year.
