McLaren Sponsor Drama

McLaren has come under fire for their sponsor of Velo ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. Multiple Dutch Health Organizations have filed complaints over the sponsorship of nicotine pouches. The company BAT (British American Tobacco), a key sponsor for Mclaren, has introduced the product line of Velo as a marketing strategy for those to get away from cigarettes.

This comes after the Netherlands became one of several European countries in banning nicotine pouches. While the nicotine pouches themselves are banned, the marketing for them is not yet banned which is a gap in the rules.

McLaren defended themselves saying: "All branding carried on McLaren race cars fully complies with regulatory requirements and advertising standards of each country we race in."
