The Fight in the Dogs: Waterdogs LC Battle vs. Chrome LC

On July 24, PLL fans witnessed a real battle between the Waterdogs LC (3-3) and the Chrome LC (4-2). Unfortunately, game day conditions in Fairfield, CT, were less than optimal, hotter than 90 degrees.

The rematch was fast-paced action from start to finish. The Chrome looked to advance to 5-1, and the Waterdogs were looking to keep their postseason hopes alive. Facing a red-hot Waterdogs squad, the Chrome were missing a key piece in 2021 Tewaaraton winner and national champion Logan Wisnauskas who was tied for second in points. Chrome needed someone to step up, and that person was Brendan Nichtern, who bagged a hat trick and four assists.

The Waterdogs played the game close but started to lose players as the game went on. Two notable losses were Micheal Sowers, who had three goals, and Ryan Brown, their best shooter.

In the fourth quarter, the Waterdogs found themselves down by one, and with only 14 field players, all signs pointed to a Waterdogs loss. The Waterdogs needed a miracle, which came from hometown hero Connor Kelly who grew up 20 minutes from Fairfield University.

Scoring the game-tying and ultimately the game-winning goal in overtime, Kelly did what many kids dream of and will your team to a win in your hometown.
