Leclerc and Norris Sign Contract Extensions Beyond the 2024 season
Both Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris have signed contract extensions with Ferrari and McLaren, respectively. It has not yet been announced how many years each driver will remain with their teams; it is only known that it will be beyond the 2024 season.
Leclerc’s extension does not come as a surprise as the Monegasque driver has previously stated he wants to win the World Championship with Ferrari. His teammate, Carlos Sainz, has not re-signed with Ferrari and is set to stay until the end of the 2024 season. Sainz is rumored to make a switch to Audi F1 team upon its entrance in 2026.
Norris’ extension comes after a strong 2023 season, with the British driver obtaining seven podiums and having led both the United States and Great Britain Grand Prix’s. Norris, along with teammate Oscar Piastri, is expected to push McLaren back to the front of the grid and compete with the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari.
