THE TOP TEN PLAYERS IN THE MLB RIGHT NOW

Left Fielder, Houston Astros

Yordan Alvarez has been the focal point of the Houston Astro’s offense but has had a rough start since winning over 100 games last season. Alvarez currently has 55 RBIs which puts him second in the association, and 17 home runs which also places top 10 in the association.  He was also top five in the association for both on-base plus slugging and slugging percentages. Alvarez is coming off a World Series triumph in 2022 and is about to hit his prime, and the Astros will be heavily reliant on his hitting to get back to competing for a second title.

Luis Arraez was traded to the Miami Marlins from the Minnesota Twins during the offseason, and since then, he has been lights out from the plate. Arraez leads the National League and the association in Batting Average at 0.382, which is far higher than any other player in the league. Additionally, Arraez leads the association in On Base Percentage at 0.431. Though he has only hit 30 RBIs and 1 Home Run, he is the primary batter on a Miami Marlins team that has drastically improved to the fourth-best record in the National League. Ohtani was also near the top of the league in On Base and Slugging Percentage and top three in slugging percentage. Additionally, the Angels of Anaheim are a top-five team in the league in RBIs and Home Runs. However, the biggest issue with Ohtani is that his stats haven’t translated well into team success he is a one-man show on a team ranked sixth in a tightly stacked American League. Therefore, this is a season where Ohtani must prove to viewers that he is ready to lead his team on the biggest stage.

As a team, the Yankees are the fourth-ranked team in the AL this year and have trended downward since winning 99 games last year.
