Both starters pitched incredibly well throughout the game, but José Berríos outshined Kyle Bradish to help lead the Toronto Blue Jays to victory, tying up the series at 1-1. With the win, José Berríos is now 10-0 in his career against the Baltimore Orioles. Berríos pitched a no-hitter into the 7th inning until Adley Rutschman hit a single to center field. He would later pitch in the 8th inning, getting Aaron Hicks to pop out to short before Adam Frazier would give the Orioles their second hit with a single to center field. Berríos would strike out the next batter, Josh Lester, before giving up a single to Ramon Urias. Blue Jays Manager John Schneider decided to move on from Berríos to LHP Tim Mayza to face off against the dangerous Gunnar Henderson, who would come to the plate as the tying run.

Overall, José Berríos pitched 7.2 innings with 3 hits, 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. Gunnar Henderson in game one against the Blue Jays went 3 for 5 with a huge Grand Slam in the 3rd inning to blow the game open for the Orioles at 8-1. The Orioles would hold that lead to win the Blue Jays 11-6. Mayza tonight, would get Henderson to ground out to short to end the inning.

Kyle Bradish had himself quite the game except for one mistake he made in the top of the 6th inning where George Springer sent a pitch 437 feet to left field for a homerun. Overall Bradish went 7 innings, giving up 1 earned run, 4 hits with 1 strikeout. Unfortunately, his team’s offense was stifled by Berríos and the Blue Jays pitching until the 8th and 9th inning. In the 9th inning, off of Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano, Ryan O’Hearn, Austin Hays and Aaron Hicks all hit singles. Hicks’ single would score Ryan O’Hearn giving the Orioles their only run of the night, before Romano would shut the door on the Orioles striking out Adam Frazier to collect the save.

The rubber match of this series will take place tomorrow, June 15th, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 PM. The Blue Jays will send out Left-hander Yusei Kikuchi who is 6-2 with a 4.32 ERA while the Orioles send Right-hander Tyler Wells who is 5-2 with a 3.24 ERA.
