MLB Power Rankings

Nearly a month into the Major League Baseball (MLB) season, we have seen many surprises. For instance, the Chicago White Sox may be the worst team ever. Jackson Holiday has not lived up to his hype, and an extremely injured Reds team is playing great ball.

Holiday, touted as a generational prospect, has started his MLB career hitting .059 with a .111 on base percentage (OBP), and only two hits in 34 at bats. Meanwhile, the White Sox are sitting at a horrendous 3-20 record.

With that being said, let’s take a look at my MLB power rankings.

1: Cleveland Guardians

Whether you believe the Guardians hot streak will come to an end or not, there is no doubting that this is the best team in baseball right now. Led by Steven Kwan, who is batting .351, and Josh Naylor, batting .321, this team has been GREAT to start the year.

2: Atlanta Braves

While the Braves fell short last year, this team is still loaded with talent. Marcell Ozuna is hitting .326, with Jared Kelenic hitting .319. The Braves have been among the best in baseball for the last four years and are my pick to win the World Series this year.

3: Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles are the most fun team in baseball. With players like Gunnar Henderson, Colton Cowser, Jordan Westburg, and Adley Rutschman, this team is among the best in baseball. While Holiday hasn’t worked out the way they expected, the team is still really good, and will be fighting for a World Series Championship this year.

4: New York Yankees

New addition, Juan Soto has been carrying this team, hitting .319, with five home runs, and 20 runs batted in (RBIs). Of course, the club will look for more production from stars, Giancarlo Stanton, and Aaron Judge as the season wears on.

5: Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are a very well-rounded team, with no one player leading them. This team can make some noise and should surely find themselves playing when October comes around.

6: Milwaukee Brewers

When Craig Counsell left for the Cubs, everyone wondered if this team would be the same. They then traded Corbin Burnes to the Orioles and looked to be in a semi rebuild. But the Brewers are still among the best in baseball.

7: Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers obviously have assembled a super team, however super teams rarely work out. LA has started 14-11 and has plenty of room for improvement to live up to their hype.

8: San Francisco Giants

This may be controversial to have the Giants ranked this high, but this team is still very good. Although they have started the season slow, this team is loaded with talent and is my pick to win the NL West.

9: Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are one of the most fun teams in all of baseball and will be for the next few years. This team is led by Elly De La Cruz and Spencer Steer. Cincy currently sits at 13-10 and will only get better once they get everybody healthy. Don’t worry Reds fans, Santiago Espinal, Bubba Thompson, and Nick Martini won’t be taking Major League at bats too much longer.

10: Chicago Cubs

The Reds and Cubs could go either way, but one thing is for sure, they are both very good ball clubs. Chicago is very similar to Philadelphia in the sense that they don’t necessarily have a huge standout player but are a very solid team.

11: San Diego Padres

12: Boston Red Sox

13: Arizona Diamondbacks

14: Detroit tigers

15: Toronto Blue Jays

16: Texas Rangers

17: Kansas City Royals

18: Pittsburgh Pirates

19: New York Mets

20: Tampa Bay Rays

21: Seattle Mariners

22: Washington Nationals

23: St. Louis Cardinals

24: Los Angeles Angels

25: Minnesota Twins

26: Oakland Athletics

27: Houston Astros

28: Miami Marlins

29: Colorado Rockies

30: Chicago White Sox
