Watford Hire Claudio Ranieri as New Manager
Watford just hired Claudio Ranieri (left Sampdoria after last season) as their new head coach on a two year contract.
The club fired their previous coach Xisco Munoz, in what the former manager called “unexpected” after less than 10 months on the job and helping get the club promoted back to the Premier League from the Championship. Watford is currently 15th in the table this season, after firing Munoz, the club hopes to get out of the risk of the relegation zone with Ranieri.
Ranieri says he will “work hard and fast” to ensure that Watford regains stability within the Premier League.
Ranieri will be the 15th permanent manager Watford have had since 2012. Previously Ranieri led Leicester to their Premier League win back in the 2015-2016 season.
Watford's next Premier League game is at home against Liverpool on Saturday, October 16.
