GENOA CFC TO ANNOUNCE FORMER BALLON D’OR ANDRIJ SHEVCHENKO AS NEW COACH

Genoa C.F.C. has announced that Ucranian legend Andrij Shevchenko will replace Davide Ballardini as the new head coach of the time, following the Italian’s coach sacking, which was officialy formalized yesterday.

Among the many awards that certify Shevchenko’s impact in global soccer, the most prestigious is certainly the Ballon d’Or (the most important award in soccer at individual level), that he was assigned in 2004, when he was playing in Italy for A.C. Milan.

He is also ranked as the sixth top goalscorer in all European competitions (a total of 67 goals), the second most prolific player in the history of A.C. Milan and the all-time top scorer of the Derby della Madonnina (the match between Milan and the rivals Inter.)
