Will Glory Be Brought Back to Oil Country?
Ever since the Edmonton Oilers drafted future Hall of Famer Connor McDavid, the team's rebuilding status changed to competitors. There's no other way of going about it when talking about a team who has a good chance at winning it all when they have one of the best players to ever play the game of hockey. However, for the past couple of years it seems like all hope becomes lost when the calendar turns to April in Edmonton.
This season, McDavid is going into his 6th year in the playoffs, and it seems like tension is rising in Edmonton with no Stanley Cup to show for it.
It has been 34 years without a Stanley Cup. The team is constantly trying to find ways to perform better and to finally bring hope to the city of Edmonton.
This year, McDavid had a spectacular year, scoring 132 points in 76 games, followed up by a 54-goal season from linemate Zach Hyman and fellow superstar Leon Draisaitl’s 106-point year. It's no secret that this team looks more dangerous than ever. Their mission to bring home a Stanley Cup will begin April 22nd when they face off against the LA Kings in round 1.
