Ryan Miller Gets His Jersey Retired By The Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres honored Ryan Miller last night with a pregame ceremony where Miller was inducted into the Sabres Hall of Fame and got his number 30 goalie retired to the rafters.

Ryan Miller played for the Sabres for 11 seasons and is the Sabres franchise leader is games played (540), saves (14,847), and wins (284). He also has the most wins by any American born goalie in NHL history at 391.

The Sabres hosted the Islanders in this matchup and entered the game having lost five out of their last six and three spots back of a playoff spot.

This game needed overtime to be decided as both teams finished regulation tied 2-2 with goals from Alex Such and Victor Olofsson for the Sabres, and goals from Matt Martin and Brock Nelson for the Islanders.

Dylan Cozens would score the OT winner putting the Sabres ahead of the Islanders, getting a much needed win on Ryan Miller night. The Goalies in this one were spectacular as Ilya Sorokin had 42 saves on 45 shots and Ukko-Pekka-Luukkonen had 24 saves on 26 shots and got the win on the night.
