The LA Kings have called up two of their top forward prospects from their AHL affiliate in 2019 number five overall pick Alex Turcotte and another 2019 draft pick in Samuel Fagemo.

In a flurry of moves on Thursday, the team announced these two forwards as well as defenseman Tobias Bjornfot were recalled from the Ontario Reign of the AHL as Carl Grundstrom was placed on IR and Gabe Vilardi out and considered day-to-day.

The Kings’ depth and production from their young players has been a key factor in their success this season. Ten players age 23 or younger have suited up for the Kings this year, with Turcotte ready to make that 11. Turcotte has three goals and three assists in his last five games for Ontario and is looking to continue his hot streak on the Kings upcoming road trip.

Fagemo has played in three games for the Kings earlier this year, picking up a goal and an assist in that action. He is also on a tear down in the AHL having scored four goals and adding two assists over his last five games.

Bjornfot, still just 22, has seen time with the Kings in four consecutive seasons, most predominantly last season where he played 70 games for them.

The Kings have a six game road trip before the All-Star break, expect to see these young guys get plenty of ice time before the break.
