McDavid Reaches 800 Career Points
Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid reached 800 career points on Tuesday night.

EDMONTON, Alberta —- Conor McDavid scored his 43rd and 44th goals this season, earning him 800 career points and helping the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. McDavid is in his eighth season with the NHL and with the Oiler’s. He currently has 44 goals this season and is Edmonton’s top goal scorer.
Tuesday’s game was McDavid’s 554th game. He now joins the list of the five fastest players to reach 800 career points. The list also includes:
Wayne Gretzky:

Gretsky earned 800 career points in 352 games. On December 27, 1983, Gretsky scored one goal and assisted on five others to earn his 800th career point and his 500th assist. Gretsky was playing for the Oilers at the time.
Mario Lemieux:

Lemieux earned 800 points in 410 games. He is a two time cup winner and hall of fame player who played for the Pittsburgh Penguins from 1984 - 2006.
Mike Bossy:

Bossy earned 800 points in 525 games. He is a four time cup winner and hall of fame player who played for the New York Islanders from 1977 - 1987.
Peter Statsny:

Statsny earned 800 career points in 531 games. He is a hall of fame player and was named one of the 100 greatest NHL players in history. Statsny played in the NHL from 1980 - 1995.
