Bruins vs Panthers Playoff Preview

Coming off the best regular season in NHL history the Bruins will look to continue their success into the Playoffs. The Bruins face off against the Florida Panthers who were able to sneak into the Playoffs over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Each team will look to their stars on the team to carry the series, but the Bruins should be able to flex their depth in the series. David Pastnak for the Bruins had 61 goals in 82 games this year, the second most in the league. Matthew Tkachuck is the Panthers shining light, for the Panthers to win this series they will need Tkachuk to show up big time.

The Bruins have depth in their scoring with the Czech line and the combination of Jake Debrusk, Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron. With a former MVP on the third line the Bruins are not short on talent offensively.

The Defensive and goalie matchup favors the Bruins as they lead the league with the least amount of goals allowed at 2.05, second best was the Hurricanes with 2.40 Goals against. The Bruins have a deep and versatile defensive core with a likely Vezina winner in net, Linus Ullmark. The Panthers have an interesting decision to make with the goalie decision between Alex Lyon and Sergei Bobrovsky.

If the Bruins continue their form from the regular season a sweep is possible, but the Presidents Trophy curse has been real with no winner of it winning the Stanley Cup since 2012-2013.
