Bruins Target Larkin Trade

The league leaders are looking to improve their already stellar roster with the addition of Dylan Larkin. After missing out on Bo Horvat the B’s have turned their heads to Larkin. Larkin who is the captain of the Detroit Red Wings has 43 points in 47 games but his contract runs up at the end of the year. If the speedster can not figure out a contract agreement with the Wings then expect teams to come chomping at the bit for Larkin.

The Bruins who are nearing the end of their prime for many of their offensive stars could use a promising and younger player. With David Krejci, 36 years old, and Patrice Bergeron, 37 years old both with one year left on their contract the Bruins will look to send them off with another ring. Dylan Larkin could provide the last piece to the puzzle to the Bruins getting that ring. The Bruins could then sign Larkin to a long term deal to replace the veterans in the upcoming years. For the current season he would be able to provide insane depth at the center position or possibly play the wing on the second or third line depending on how chemistry works out.

The asking price could be quite high but considering what Horvat got, it might be a little less than that. A first round pick, Trent Fredieric and a prospect such as Fabian Lysell or Mason Lohrei could be enough to sway the Wings into making the deal happen. The deal would be a massive move for each team. Since the Red Wings are not really in the playoff hunt they may decide to offload their pieces to tank a little and get value from Larkin who could leave for free in the summer.
