Bruins Set Regular Season Win Record
The Boston Bruins have added their names to the history books with their win over the Philadelphia Flyers. They have become the first team in NHL history to reach 63 wins. The Black and Gold have the potential to pass the Montreal Canadians of 1976-1977 in overall points. The Bruins need just one more point to tie the record and two more to overtake them. The Bruins face off against the Washington Capitals and the Montreal Canadiens in their last two games.
With just two games remaining the B’s will look to break the points record and then set their sights on the first round of the playoffs where they will face either the Penguins, Panthers, Islanders and even possibly the Sabers if they get some luck.
The game was one where the Bruins maintained and handled the lead with a hat trick from David Pastrnak and a hat trick of assists from Tyler Bertuzzi. David Pastrnak hit the 60 goal mark with his hat trick. The Bruins were able to win without Charlie McAvoy, Patrice Bergeron, David Krecji, Taylor Hall and Dimitry Orlov. Expect more rest for the Bruins last two games of the year.
