Bruins Lose Three In A Row
The Bruins have now lost three games in a row after not losing two games in a row until the last two games. The B’s have been on a roll all season and this is the first bit of turbulence all year. The bruins lost their first game to Tampa Bay in a close fought game fell the way of the Bolts. The B’s then had a heartbreaking loss to the Florida Panthers after David Pastrnak took the lead with less than a minute to go but it was equalized with 1.4 seconds by Aleksander Barkov. The Bruins lost that game 17 seconds into overtime. A truly painful loss. They followed it up with arguably their worst performance of the season, losing 4-1 to the Canes with no real bright spot in performance.
It could have just been due to fatigue and the knowledge of the All Star break coming up that took the focus of the black and gold. A drop in form is presumed to happen after setting the record to the fastest team to 80 points. The Bruins still have a large command in the league and will not be pulling the alarms just yet.
It will be interesting to see how they deal with adversity. Captain Patrice Bergeron said post game, “We've got to face that as a team together, roll up our sleeves and learn from what hasn't been there the last few games.” The drop in form might actually aid the Bruins in the playoffs. The struggles throughout the midseason can provide helpful knowledge and data of why the team is struggling and how they can bounce back.
The B’s still have one more game before All Star weekend and that is versus the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The Leafs are second in the Atlantic and have won three out of their last four. It will be a good test for the Bruins as the two teams often play each other close. Even if they lose the game they have the All Star break to recoup and fix their issues.
