Would the NFL Really Play a Super Bowl in London?

GREENVILLE, N.C. (PSF) - This past weekend in the NFL, the league was preparing to play their third straight game in London with a matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans. The London games have always been a fun thing for the league, every year, usually because NFL fans are able to wake up at 9:30 am to start their morning with football.

The NFL just had the Jaguars in London playing back to back weeks, which is the first time a team has done that since this expansion. Jacksonville plays in London once a year, every year, mainly due to their owner giving up home games to travel out there. During this past weekend in London, NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell said the league has talked about the possibility of one day hosting a Super Bowl in London, claiming that β€œit is not impossible, but it is something that has been discussed before.” This small comment kind of created a huge outrage throughout social media following Sunday morning’s game in London.

Thinking about the idea of playing a Super Bowl anywhere but the United States of America seems a little out of touch with reality for the sport of football, that has been America’s past time. This country quite literally eat, sleeps, and breathes all things football, with the NFL and NCAAF dominating viewership, sales, and revenue in their respective markets. Personally, I do not think that the NFL will actually go through with this, as Goodell’s comments were merely a tease for the fans in London.
