CHICAGO (PSF) — The Chicago Bears (2-3), rebounded from last week’s results by defeating the Los Angeles Rams (1-3) by a final score of 24-18. Punter Tory Taylor made life difficult for the Rams offense, with one of five punts sealing their fate.

Taylor punted five times for 277 yards in the victory over Los Angeles. With three of the punts landing beyond the 10-yard line. His last two punts landed on the Rams eight-yard line and put their opponents in a difficult position to generate any momentum.

In a postgame interview Nicholas Moreano of CHGO sports, Taylor tried to keep his excitement hidden, cracking a few smiles answering questions.

“It’s obviously a pretty special feeling,” Taylor said. “A lot goes into that one specific play. So, for us to kind of go out there and dominate field position for our team, we’re obviously pretty ecstatic.”

For Chicago’s offense, the team flipped the script from last week. This time, the running backs lead the way instead of the receivers.

Running back D’Andre Swift ran outside the numbers 16 times for 93 yards. He scored the final points for the Bears offense with a 36-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Swift also was the receiving leader for Chicago, with seven catches for 72 yards against Los Angeles.

RB Roschon Johnson scored the other rushing touchdown for the Bears. He had seven carries for 26 yards on the day.

Quarterback Caleb Williams was quiet today on offense compared to last week. Only throwing for 157 yards and one touchdown to wide receiver D.J. Moore. Moore had three catches for 22 yards against the Rams defense.

Thanks to the efforts of Taylor, Chicago’s defense was able to put quarterback Matthew Stafford in tough situations. Holding him to only 224 passing yards on the day and forced him to throw one interception to safety Jaquan Brisker that sealed the win for the Bears.

Chicago’s pass rush got to Stafford three times. Brisker, defensive end Montez Sweat, and defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. each recorded a sack against the Rams. Sweat's sack resulted in a fumble for Los Angeles that was recovered by cornerback Kyler Gordon.

The Bears will be hosting the Carolina Panthers (1-3) this Sunday at Soldier Field in a matchup that likely won’t feature former number one overall pick QB Bryce Young.

That is unless QB Andy Dalton becomes injured later in the week.
