To Trade or not to Trade: The Tennessee Titans

The NFL trade deadline is next Tuesday, Nov. 1 and the NFL world is full of trade rumors. Plus we even got some trades already such as Robert Quinn to the Eagles, Christian McCaffery to the 49ers and Kadarius Toney recently being traded to the Chiefs.

For the Tennessee Titans who sit atop the AFC South at 4-2 and are currently on a 4-game winning streak, they are in a prime position to be buyers at the deadline.

Titans fans including myself would want to see general manager Jon Robinson make a move, especially on the offensive side of the ball which has been abysmal aside from Derrick Henry.

Looking at this past game against the Colts, the Titans won this game where they scored zero offensive touchdowns and had to settle for four field goals.

The one touchdown they did get was a pick-six from Andrew Adams on the defensive side of the ball.

This offense currently ranks as one of the bottom teams in the league especially when it comes to the passing game. In total, the Titans have produced only 993 passing yards so far this season which is only second worst to the Chicago Bears who have only 884 passing yards.

The most glaring needs that the Titans need to address right now are the offensive line and the wide receiver room.

Injuries have plagued these two position groups the most, leaving the Titans to have that next-man-up mentality.

Current left tackle Dennis Daley has been awful so far since taking over for the injured Taylor Lewan who is done for the season with a knee injury. Starting right guard Nate Davis has missed the past two games with a foot injury and center Ben Jones recently suffered a knee injury during last week’s game against the Colts.

As for the wide receiver group, both rookie receivers Treylon Burks and Kyle Phillips are currently on the injured reserve list. This leaves a group that is a lot to be desired with Robert Woods leading the team with only 230 receiving yards.

Although the Titans should be trading for a piece that can help their team right now, don’t expect to be surprised that they do not make a trade.

Jon Robinson has made a ton of trades in the offseason in his tenure with Tennessee but when it comes to the trade deadline, the last time he made a trade was when he acquired Desmond King from the Los Angeles Chargers for a 6th-round pick in 2020.

The Titans may feel content with the roster they have right now since they are still winning and maybe they just bank on luck moving forward.
