The Tennessee Titans travel to Philadelphia this week to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

It will be a highly regarded matchup featuring two rushing offenses that can do major damage to opposing defenses with Titans running back Derrick Henry and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, there is something else that many fans will keep an eye out for in this game, especially Titans fans which is the storyline of the Titans facing their former wide receiver, A.J Brown.

For a reminder, the Titans traded Brown to the Eagles on draft night for a 1st and 3rd-round pick. Supposedly the Titans lowballed Brown when it came to the negotiations for a contract extension. Both sides could not agree to a deal which ultimately led to Brown being paid by the Eagles.

The first-round pick they used from the trade was for Treylon Burks, a wide receiver many compared to A.J. Brown coming out of Arkansas due to their size and yards-after-catch ability. As Brown’s replacement, Burks has not quite lived up to those expectations although it is hard to say when he is just a rookie. Burks has dealt with injury this year landing on injured reserve for a turf toe. However these past two games against the Green Bay Packers and the Cincinnati Bengals, Burks provided back-to-back solid performances for fans to get excited about.

Burks has amassed 11 catches for 181 receiving yards which a lot of those yards come from Tannehill finding him in deep passing situations. It has been great for the Titans offense which still struggles to get much out of the passing game considering they are still at the bottom of the league in pass offense rankings. But ever since Burks came back from injury, he provided a much-needed spark for them. Burks has shown to be the Titans number one wide receiver moving forward and if he can string another solid performance against the person who the Titans traded away, it will be a good sign moving forward when it comes to looking back on this trade.
