Steelers’ Quarterback situation

It seems as if the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best Quarterback situation in the NFL at the moment. They have 35 year old Russell Wilson who was expected to be the starter until a calf injury sidelined him for the beginning of the season. Their current starter is 25-year old Justin Fields who’s led the team to a 3-0 start to the season. Despite the defense being lights out, Fields deserves credit just as much as they do.

Fields has had a passer rating above 90 in each game this season, averaging 95.3. His completion percentage is 73.3% which he hasn’t really been close to in his young career, hovering between 59 and 61 percent before coming to Pittsburgh. His completion percentage is 6th best in the NFL behind only Jayden Daniels, Josh Allen, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, and Gardner Minshew. Fields is also getting the ball out faster, which was another problem he had in Chicago. His snap-to-throw time is down to 2.82 seconds, compared to his 3.23 seconds last year which was the highest in the NFL. With veteran Quarterback Russell Wilson coming back soon, the Steelers will have a hard choice to make if they can pull off another win in Indianapolis this week.
