Roquan Smith Believes Ravens Are 'In For Something Special' in 2023
Baltimore, Maryland (PSF) - Optimism has been at full force for the NFL, we will be reaching the new season in a few weeks. New team management, new players and new strategies, its always exciting to see what is going to happen with the teams and their new ways of playing. A team that many people have been waiting to see what will happen next is the Baltimore Ravens.
Linebacker Roquan Smith is super excited to get out there and fly around with his teammates. He also believes that this will be a great year for not only him, but also for the entire Ravens team. He feels better both mentally and physically compared to the last season, as this should be a year of improvement for both Smith and the team.
Smith has many reasons to be excited. Heβs moved past the contract dispute that prompted his trade from Chicago to Baltimore, receiving a new five-year $100 million contract deal from the Ravens and returns as a key part of the defense built to win in 2023. Heβs also operating with the luxury of time. Additionally, he is ready to pay with a vengeance in Defensive Coordinator Mike Macdonaldβs scheme.
Baltimore acquired Smith in the middle of the 2022 season, a campaign that included its own helping of adversity, starting with the loss of quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens still found a way to reach the playoffs, but their loss to Cincinnati on Super Wild Card weekend unfortunately ended their season.
Smith admitted that he is not scared, he wasnβt born scared, and wasnβt scared thinking about that. He believes that most of the guys on the defense live the same way he does. He knows people fear them, and he wants to strike them. At the end of the day, he is counting on making people be blown away by their upcoming games this season.
