Once Super Bowl Opponents, now new teammates in Dallas
Years ago Brandin Cooks and Stephon Gilmore lined up against each other in Super Bowl 53 when it was the Patriots vs the Rams; now it’s 2023 and both have been traded to the Dallas Cowboys.
To get these two players didn’t cost Dallas much; Dallas traded just a fifth-round pick to Indianapolis to get former Defensive Player of the Year Cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Then, Dallas traded a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick to get wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Personally I think both of these moves are solid additions to the team and could help out our offense and defense. You’ll be pairing Cooks with Michael Gallup and Ceedee Lamb to form a solid WR trio. Gilmore will be paired with Trevon Diggs.
Especially with Gilmore you bring in a player with a lot of veteran experience, he’s a five-time Pro Bowler, two-time First Team All-Pro and a Super Bowl Champion and a former Defensive Player Of The Player. He’s brings that stability to an already top defense.
Brandin Cooks will be another addition to the Cowboys receiver core since they lost Noah Brown and TE Dalton Schultz to free agency. In his 9 years in the league he’s had six 1000 yard seasons so, he’s no slouch at all and I believe will help Dak Prescott get the ball down the field.
