New Uniforms Coming to Houston?
Houston, TX (PSF) - The Houston Texans posted a cryptic image onto their social media. An image of a silhouetted Texans player with the date “6.12.23” under the teams logo has many fans of the team speculating what could be happening in the coming days. Some think that it could mean J.J. Watt is signing a one-day deal to retire with the team, but most think that a bigger announcement is on the way.
Teams getting new uniforms has been quite common in recent years and with the NFL allowing teams to wear alternate helmets starting last season, the idea that the Texans will be getting new uniforms isn’t far-fetched. The team's uniform design hasn’t drastically changed since they became a franchise in 2002. Perhaps a change like that is necessary for the shift in culture that the Texans front office is looking for. This is something that was teased earlier in the year, also on the team's social media.
Many concepts have shown a desire from the fans for uniforms that resemble Houston’s original football team, The Oilers. With a new face of the franchise in quarterback C.J Stroud, the Houston Texans are looking toward the future, and new uniforms for the 2023 season might be a good step in the right direction for the culture of this team. Besides, they can’t be worse than the Cardinals uniforms.
