Mania in Philadelphia?
Is there a mania in Philadephia? That is a very valid question after seeing the Eagles’ performance in week 13 against the Jets. Gardner Minshew stepped in this week for an injured Jalen Hurts and he absolutely lit up the field. Minshew went 20/25 for 242 yards and 2 TD passes. In addition to that, Minshew spread the ball around to 6 different receivers, whereas normally it is the same 1 or 2 who see the ball. We also still had a very strong run game with Miles Sanders rushing for 120 yards. Having a very balanced rushing and passing game is something that does not always happen. In the last few weeks with Hurts, it has been balanced, but primarily focused on the run game, and him running the ball himself. I personally like what Minshew brought to the table much better than anything I have seen Hurts do. Hurts is a good player, but Minshew had the energy and drive to be on that field. You could see him on the sidelines pumped up, talking to players, reviewing film, and on the field, he was pumped and very zoned into this game. The team seemed to truly rally around him and played with excitement today. We do, however, have our bye week in week 14, so after the bye is it Minshew Mania time, or are we going back to Hurts?
