Why Jalen Carter’s Draft Stock Could Continue to Fall
Kansas City, Missouri (PSF) — Jalen Carter, defensive tackle out of the University of Georgia is coming off his second straight National Championship with the team. After having a superstar college career, Jalen Carter decided to forgo his senior year and declare for the NFL Draft. It comes to no suprise due to the fact that Carter is one of the best defensive prospects we have seen in a while.
During the whole college football season there was debate whether or not Jalen Carter or Will Anderson Jr. was going to be the first defensive player taken out of the NFL Draft. With the draft in less than a month, why is Jalen Carter getting pulled off of teams draft boards? Could it be from the off the field issues that have happened or is it from Carter’s brutal pro day. While combines and pro days are not completly something to keep an eye on when drafting, It is still one to keep an eye on.
While Carter is expected to be drafted in the top 10, teams such as the Las Vegas Raiders ended up removing him off the board and two of those reasons could be the culprit of why. There are still teams such as Seattle that still are currently looking at Carter. It will be interesting to see who falls and who rises in the 2023 NFL Draft. Will that be the case for Jalen Carter? It is quite an interesting case to see where Carter will land and if he will be a great fit for the organization that ends up drafting him.
