Is there enough to keep Lamar in Baltimore?
Earlier this week free agent Wide Receiver Odell Beckham signed a one-year, $15 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. To be totally honest the Ravens made this move in order to keep Lamar Jackson happy, but is this really enough?
You're banking on a guy who didn’t play at all this previous season and is coming off ACL surgery for the second time in two years.
On one hand it sort of makes sense because he is a big name and has been successful; however, why try to bring in a number one target for Lamar when he’s already asked for a trade.
They should’ve signed him last year in the middle of the season when they had the chance and see what he could’ve done, but instead they let it manifest and Odell didn’t play a single snap.
A bigger situation is going on with Lamar Jackson and there’s a chance he may not even be in Baltimore next year so this signing kind of doesn’t make sense.
With incentives, Odell could potentially make $18 million dollars this season and that’s a bit much since he hasn’t played since he won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams last year.
If Lamar does stay with the Ravens and plays we have to see how the duo will be and if Odell is the answer. However, even if Lamar isn’t traded before training camp there’s a chance that he will sit out the entire regular season so it’ll be a move that’ll have a lot of questions.
