The Washington Commanders Finally Sell
Orlando, Florida (PSF) - The buying of a franchise in the NFL is something that has been occurring ever since the league existed. For a while, there has been talks about a purchase of the Washington Commanders franchise for a price that would be in the billions. According to some sources, this week the Commanders have sold their franchise for an amount of $6.05 billion.
The Commanders Owner Dan Snyder and Josh Harris of Harris Blitzer Sports Entertainment have reached an agreement on a sale of the franchise to Hariβs group. The price at the end of $6.05 billion have been spotted to be an NFL Record Price and one of the most expensive purchases in league history.
This transaction has been in the talks for a while and there is a lot more to be done before itβs fully achieved. Any sale of an NFL franchise would need to be approved by the NFLβS finance committee and at least three-fourths of the leagues 32 owners. This shall be a really interesting deal between owners before the main negotiation shall end.
Josh Harris is already the owner of others teams, which include NBAβs Philadelphia 76ers and NHLβs New Jersey Devils, and is currently a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he is also the head of an investment group that includes Maryland business. The man has been busy with managing others teams and now with the purchase of the Commanders, he is now missing an MLB team to have a team in each league.
Not only that but this purchase shall be the highest purchase in NFL history, this even beat the Denver Broncos purchase by Walton-Penner who bought the team by $4.65 billion.
This shall be a new era for the Commanders, now with a new owner in addition to new players.
