Indianapolis Colts Unveil New Alternate Helmet
Indianapolis, Indiana (PSF) - The Indianapolis Colts are going to take full advantage of the league’s alternate helmet rule by creating a new tradition, something that is viewed as a bad idea among the current state of the fans of the NFL, mostly because it takes a long amount of time for fans to get used to these new traditions. What is this new tradition? The team has revealed something unique for the team, a black helmet.
This new attire will be featured and recognized as ‘’Indiana Nights” as it will make its debut week seven when the Colts play against the Browns. On social media, the public didn’t have much of a reaction towards that change, because it looked very similar to the all-blue color rush information of the past.
The Colts’ significant color is blue, which is what they have been using on their uniforms for decades. Over the years the team tried to put on some new additions to their uniform, things like two horizontal stripes across the shoulder pads, matching the team’s customary piping down the pants, and the Colts’ secondary logo, which debuted not to long ago during the 2020 season.
The black helmet is not a bad idea, but it’s very different for a team that has always sported a white shell. Despite that new color, the helmet still has the Colts legendary blue horseshoe logo, but white trim surrounds it and there is a blue stripe down the middle. It’s an interesting design for the helmet and if it stays around, it could be used for a long time and for a few more seasons.
One of the reasons for this new change of helmet color is because the NFL approved the return of alternate helmets. Nearly half of the 32 league teams have already taken advantage of the ruling, with most clubs using the helmets and uniforms of the past. With this idea, the Colts took full advantage of this new idea and introduced a new color for their team. Not only it will be interesting for the team style, but they will sell a ton of helmets for the fans who want to have something new.
