Game Preview: Titans vs Raiders

The Titans return home to face the Las Vegas Raiders this week. Both teams are looking to avoid going 0-3 and both are coming off brutal losses.
The Titans got absolutely outmatched in their Week two 41-7 loss against the Bills. Not only they were outmatched, but they also outdid themselves with the number of mistakes they made on offense, defense and special teams.
The Raiders on the other hand gained a sizable 20-0 lead at halftime against the Cardinals but fell 29-23 in overtime. It was very much similar to the Titans 13-0 lead and collapse against the Giants in Week one.
The Titans and then Oakland Raiders last met back in 2019 where the Titans won 42-21.
The Raiders are currently favored to win with a spread odd of less than 2.5 per DraftKings Sportsbook.

MATCHUPS TO LOOK OUT FOR
Titans offensive line vs Raiders defensive line
The Titans should be worried about their offensive line as they allowed two sacks and 15 pressures against the Bills. To make it worst, starting left tackle Taylor Lewan went down with a knee injury and will miss this week’s game.
The pass rush duo of Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones has not particularly looked great so far as Crosby managed to get his first sack last week while Jones has yet to record one.
However, do not discredit both of them when it comes to production.
Crosby led the NFL last year in total pressures with 82 so he is no joke to collapsing the quarterback’s pocket.
Titans fans will surely remember what Jones did to them last year in Week 1 as the then Arizona Cardinal racked up 5 sacks against their offensive line. The result was an Arizona 38-13 blowout win.
2. Titans cornerbacks vs Davante Adams
The Titans cornerback group will have to transition from covering really good wide receiver in Stefon Diggs to extremely good Davante Adams. Diggs went off against the Titans as he produced 12 catches for 148 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The Titans did not have their best corner in Kristian Fulton for that game which put a lot of pressure on the likes of Caleb Farley and Roger McCreary.
Now they will have to face arguably the best wide receiver in Adams who did not have the best game last week as he only had two catches for 12 yards against the Arizona Cardinals.
However, Adams has proven to be one of the best at shaking off cornerbacks due to his impressive route running ability. It will be up to Derek Carr to exploit that to his advantage against what is so far an uninspiring Titans cornerback play.
