If anybody in the NFL needs to redeem themselves its the Philadelphia Eagles. The Birds are coming off an embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football losing to the Falcons 22-21. The Eagles had a 99 percent chance of winning according to ESPN analytics. All Philly had to do was get one more first down, and it looked to be done and over for Atlanta. On third down, the Eagles controversially called play-action as Jalen Hurts rolled out and threw it to superstar running back Saquon Barkley, and he dropped it. Kirk Cousins and the Falcons ended up driving the field scoring the game winning touchdown to win the game 22-21. If Barkley catches that ball, the Eagles would go on to win the game and start their season 2-0. The mood in Philadelphia is all doom and gloom for the moment, as the Birds will have to make a statement in the Big Easy to steady the ship.

Going down to Louisiana, the party is on in the Big Easy as their beloved New Orleans Saints are 2-0. Not only are the Saints 2-0 but they have completely and utterly dominated their opponents so far, beating the Panthers 47-10 in week 1, and last week hammering the Cowboys in Dallas 44-19. Derek Carr has gone from the most hated man in New Orleans to now the most beloved, turning back the clock to his Raider days leading the Saints to score on their first fourteen drives of the year. New Saints Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak has reinvented this offense having the likes of Rasheed Shaheed and Alvin Kamara torch opposing defenses. Speaking of Kamara, the star running back lit AT&T Stadium a blaze going scoring four touchdowns. It’s safe to say that the mood hasn’t been this great in New Orleans in quite a while, and it’ll be interesting to see how long can the Saints preserve this momentum.

If the Eagles wish to escape New Orleans with a victory, their defense is going to need to step up especially their secondary. The likes of CJ Gardner Johnson, Reed Blankenship, Quinyon Mitchell and co, will need to better as in the first two weeks of the season, they’ve been sliced and diced by opposing quarterbacks and receivers. It’s not gonna get any easier this week, as the Birds will be going against the number one scoring offense in NFL and the number three total offense in general. New Orleans has a multitude of weapons in Chris Olave, Alvin Kamara, and Rasheed Shaheed who will scare the Philly faithful. Jalen Hurts will need to have his best game of the season, and it would help for Saquon Barkley to become a threat to opposing teams with his hands.

This game will surely be a battle with a multitude of superstars on each team, but after the disaster of last week, it’s hard to imagine the Eagles will bounce back immediately. With the Eagles weak secondary and a shattered mindset entering this game, Derek Carr and the Saints will pull out the victory with a win.

Score Prediction: Eagles 27 Saints 31
