Eagles Clinch Playoff Berth

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially clinched a spot in the 2021 NFC playoff bracket.

The Eagles win over the Washington Football Team was a start, but they needed a bit more help.

After securing their own win, the Eagles needed the San Francisco 49ers to defeat the Houston Texans.

They got that.

Still though, the Eagles needed one more domino to fall their way. If the Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football, the Eagles would officially clinch their spot.

The domino did in fact fall as the Packers routed the Vikings 37-10.

Fan focus shifts to which opponent the Eagles will play on wild-card weekend.

The Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be the most likely opponent.

There are other teams, however.

The Eagles and Los Angeles Rams matchup has the second highest probability. Matching up with the Arizona Cardinals or Dallas Cowboys is tied for the lowest chance.

Of course, each situation is very possible.

An Eagles-Buccaneers matchup has the highest probability of happening.

The Eagles lost to the Buccaneers in Philadelphia earlier this season 28-22.

After allowing 21 first half points, the Eagles defense surrendered only seven points to the Buccaneers in the second half.

The Birds offense also came alive in the second half by scoring 15 points.

In the end, it wasn’t enough, but the team managed to stay in it with the defending Super Bowl champions. That is something the players will have in mind if they are matched up with the Buccaneers.

Whoever the Eagles face, they will travel to the opposing team’s stadium since the Cowboys won the NFC East and with that a home playoff game.

The Eagles conclude the regular season on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. when they host the Cowboys.
