INGLEWOOD, Cal. (PSF) - The Detroit Lions (6-2) are slated to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers (4-4) in Week 10.

The Lions are coming off their bye and hoping to keep the steam rolling against the AFC West going into Week 10. The Lions have beaten both AFC West teams they have played this year, the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chargers are coming off their second straight win after beating the New York Jets and Chicago Bears to put them at an even record of 4-4.

The Chargers offense has been struggling the past few weeks with Quarterback Justin Herbert not throwing a single touchdown in their win against the Jets. The Lions struggled against the Ravens and Raiders in pass defense with multiple blown coverages that were not exploited due to poor passes especially during the Raiders game.

The Lions offense struggled without running back David Montgomery taking them longer to set the tempo in the few games he missed. Montgomery appears to be ready to play for the Sunday afternoon matchup against the Chargers bolstering the Lions backfield back to full strength.

After the massive game from running back Jahmyr Gibbs many fans were waiting for many are hoping to see his role get bigger even with the return of Montgomery. This will be the first game as well to see new wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones who the Lions acquired via trade from the Cleveland Browns.

The Lions got a really slow start against the Raiders two weeks ago with poor play calling that stalled drives right outside of the redzone. The Lions have all the weapons, but some weapons like wide receiver Jameson Williams need to make more of an impact. Drops have been a huge issue of Williams since rejoining the team from his suspension and he is getting plenty of targets per game to be making more of an impact than he currently is.

This is one of the bigger games on the Lions schedule moving forward. A win here could slow the shift in the media about the Lions not being able to compete with middle and top tier teams in the league. The Ravens loss was brutal, and the team knew that immediately showing they can change when their schemes and play calls are being caught up to by defenses.

This will be a competitive game with lots of scoring on both sides. The Lions squeeze this one out with a 35-28 win to pull further away in the NFC North and improve to 7-2 on the season.
