Christian Gonzalez wins Rookie of the Month

Patriots first round pick rookie Christian Gonzalez has gotten his first award in his NFL Career. Along with CJ Stroud for the Houston Texans, Gonzalez has won September Rookie of the Month. Gonzalez becomes the first rookie for the Patriots to win Rookie of the Month with Mac Jones being the last one overall and Chandler Jones being the last defensive rookie.

Gonzalez has been outstanding for this New England defense locking down number one wideouts for opposing offenses and he will be going at it again facing CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys Sunday at 4:25 in Dallas. The former Oregon Duck was suprised to see his name drop in the NFL Draft last spring after being projected to be a top 10 pick in the draft as well as being the first cornerback taking in the draft. It may seem that teams might be regretting their decision by passing on Gonzalez and letting Belichick take him. Bill Belichick has been known for producing top cornerbacks and Gonzalez career could continue starting hot.

Has played every snap but one (on goal-line), with 16 total tackles, one sack, one interception and three passes defensed.
