Broncos vs Vikings Preview
The Denver Broncos (4-5) will be back home to face the Minnesota Vikings (6-4). Both teams are looking to continue trending in the right direction.
Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson had his most efficient game of the season on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, completing 24 of 29 pass attempts with 193 yards and two passing touchdowns. Denver followed the same type of game plan with lots of check-downs and screens. This will be the opposite with the weaker Vikings secondary Wilson should be taking advantage of that. Not to say that running the ball won't be effective because we know it will with hard-running running back Javonte Williams. He had 75+ rushing yards in each of the last three games with at least 15 carries, a lot more exposure than he was getting earlier in the season which is good to get him going at this point in the season. The defense again will be the deciding factor like it has been these past three wins, with +8 on turnover differential since starting the win streak.
Vikings QB Josh Dobbs has had two exceptional weeks considering the situation he was put into, being traded to the team days before his first playing time. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson is expected back this week the Vikings are looking to improve to 7-4 which would put them in a great spot to make the playoffs. Dobbs is going to be the deciding factor for Minnesota, the offensive line is going to need to give him time in the pocket that has been one of the weak spots for this team. WR Jordan Addison is going back to wide receiver two which will hopefully open up the field more for Dobbs where he's been succeeding. Although Denver's run defense has still been vulnerable, even with RB Alexander Mattison out, RB Myles Gaskin could get some playing time going after just being signed and thrown in.
