Bears vs. Jaguars recap
The Chicago Bears beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this morning 35-16.
Caleb Williams threw a career high 4 touchdown passes, 2 to Wide Receiver Keenan Allen and 2 to Tight End Cole Kmet in what was his best game of his young career so far he also finished 23-29 for 226 passing yards. D'Andre Swift had another stellar game, rushing for 91 yards and one TD on 17 carries and catching four passes for 28 yards. The Jaguars started fast but after a Gabe Davis dropped pass in the end zone, they had to settle for a field goal. Davis later had two second-half touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to get the job done today. This is Chicago's first three-game winning streak since late in the 2020 season.
The Bears defense delivered another strong performance, limiting the Jaguars to 278 yards while generating two takeaways and four sacks. Jaguars safety Andre Cisco recorded the teamโs first interception of the season, the only highlight in an otherwise abysmal showing by Jacksonvilleโs secondary, one of multiple this year. Lawrence had a few misses including an underthrown pass that could have ended in a deep touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Jr. But drops by his receivers hurt him more, including two by Gabe Davis (both in scoring position), one by Thomas and one by Christian Kirk. Tight End Evan Engram shined in his return from a four-week hamstring injury, catching 10 passes for 102 yards. But even he could not hold onto the ball at one point, fumbling at the end of a 24-yard catch-and-run. Chicago capitalized after Engramโs fumble, with Williamsโ first end zone connection with Allen.
Following their third straight victory, the Bears head will into their bye week before returning to action Nov. 27 against the Commanders in Washington. The Jaguars will remain in London for Week 7 and will host the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium next Sunday, at 9:30 a.m.
