Bears Draft Profile Part One: Sedrick Van Pran
The Bears are officially on the clock for a potential quarterback. However, there are still other needs to fix for the team on both sides.
One player to look out for in the draft is Georgia Bulldogs center Sedrick Van Pran.
In his three-year career for the Bulldogs, Van Pran has only allowed a single sack in that short timespan with 2,554 total snaps. The center position is a critical need for the Bears, since it is a possibility that C Lucas Patrick could leave in free agency.
Van Pran boasts many quality traits in an interior offensive lineman such as explosiveness off the jump, great footwork from the start of the play, great communication pre-snap to spot blitzes, and can send defenders off balance with explosive hand blows.
Over the coming weeks, we will take a somewhat in-depth look into other prospects the Bears could take in the later rounds of the draft. Other needs for the team include offensive line depth, another edge rusher, tight end depth, a possible new defensive back with the likely departure of safety Eddie Jackson, and linebacker depth.
