Giants Trade for Isaiah Simmons
East Rutherford, New Jersey (PSF) - Giants are reportedly trading for Cardinals Linebacker Isaiah Simmons for a 2024 7th round pick.
Simmons played for Clemson and was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2020.
He played safety and some stints of linebacker in college. He started at safety for the Cardinals until they moved him to linebacker.
The Giants have had a linebacker issue this past offseason with Bobby Okereke as the clear starting linebacker.
This trade can definitely help with the Giants problem and make their defense better. Also, if they need him to play stints of safety again then they can put him back there as well.
The trade is definitely fair because Simmons has been on the Cardinals for a few year but couldnβt seem to break out in Arizona. He definitely has a bigger chance to prove that heβs a great player in New York.
Arizona seems they are in full rebuild mode and losing some good players such as DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt this past offseason. As well as Buddy Baker requesting a trade earlier this offseason.
This trade can definitely benefit both teams with problems they have and can fix.
