5 Possible Destinations For Deandre hopkins

With DeAndre Hopkins being placed on the trade block, here are five potential destinations that the star wide receiver could be sent to.

1.      New England Patriots

With Jakobi Meyers possibly testing free agency this offseason, the Patriots are desperate to find a reliable #1 wide receiver. Bill Belichick praised the star wide receiver this year saying, “I’m glad we only have to play you every four years, man”, which was captured on the HBO special “Hard Knocks”(patsfans.com). Patriots have had struggles drafting wide receivers in the past, and the Patriots have not had a 1,000-yard receiver since 2019, with Julian Edelman being that receiver.

2. Green Bay Packers

The Packers are still currently unsure of what is going on with Aaron Rodgers at the moment. The Packers have had a hard time starting off the season without Davante Adams and the rookie from North Dakota State, Christian Watson, has had some issues holding on to passes. Allen Lazard might not re-sign and could be on another team when free agency hits. If Aaron Rodgers decides to play next year, he will have a great weapon to throw to.

3. Baltimore Ravens

With Rashod Bateman being injured for the majority of this year and his rookie year, and Devin Duvernay primarily being a kick returner, Ravens need to look for that #1 man to which they can throw. Lamar Jackson is still the first priority. If Jackson re-signs, trading for Hopkins would be great for Baltimore by giving Jackson other options in the passing game. Ravens had a hard time with their wide receiver core and Hopkins can help boost that weakness on offense

4. Chicago Bears

Justin Fields has finally got it going in Chicago… there is one issue, however, with the offensive side needing some additions. The wide receiver core. Yes, Darnell Mooney is an excellent player, but he is not a #1 target. The Bears traded for Chase Claypool at the deadline hoping to add some depth to the sluggish wide-out core but could not get anything going for the Bears. With the Bears having the first overall pick, they can trade down, swap picks with the Cardinals, and another draft pick for Hopkins.

5. Dallas Cowboys

This one may be an extreme longshot of happening, however, the Cowboys’ front office can pull the trigger to add another receiver for Dak Prescott. Ceedee Lamb is an excellent receiver but after Amari Cooper was traded to the Cleveland Browns, Prescott did not have that many options to throw to other than Lamb and Schultz. Dallas chose not to sign Odell Beckham Jr. this season; as Dallas was worried about his knee injury. Hopkins is coming off a great season in Arizona, even though he only played nine games this season.
