Oxford, Mississippi (PSF) - Ole Miss baseball’s transfer portal activity continues with the latest addition of Andrew Fischer, a talented third baseman from Duke University. Fischer, a left-handed batter, had an impressive freshman season with the Blue Devils, hitting .289 with 11 home runs and a .999 OPS. Nearly half of his hits resulted in extra bases.

In a Twitter announcement, Fischer expressed his gratitude to his family and friends for their support and revealed his commitment to Ole Miss for both his academic and athletic pursuits. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 200 pounds, Fischer displayed strong defensive skills as well, committing just one error throughout the season and contributing to Duke’s success in winning the Conway Regional.

The addition of Fischer brings a significant offensive boost to the Rebels, particularly at the premium position of third base where they lacked substantial production. With three seasons of eligibility remaining, Fischer’s arrival strenghtens the Ole Miss lineup. He joins a group of incoming transfers that includes JD Urso, a shortstop from Tampa; Treyson Hughes, an outfielder from Mercer; and Kyler Carmack, a pitcher from Arkansas State.

Ole Miss continues to actively rebuild their team through the transfer portal, seeking to enhance their roster and competitiveness for the upcoming seasons. Fischer’s arrival adds further depth and talent to their lineup, increasing their potential for success on the baseball diamond.
